Why is it that whenever there’s a novel about a female friendship that ends in betrayal, the fallout is inevitably because of some guy? Why can’t it be, like, these two women were roommates in grad school and then one of them stole the other’s paper and had it published in a peer-reviewed journal to heavy accolades or something?

So I'm sitting here worrying about how much stuff...
and then I realize that it’s Tuesday and I have nothing else to do but focus on my to-do list between now and tomorrow at 3 p.m. I think I will try to be productive until 8 or 9, then read some magazines with a glass of wine (hey, it counts as job research) and go to bed early. This is the closest I’ll ever be to a lady of leisure, so I might as well enjoy it.
