See, the problem with all these Republican men is that they believe that rape doesn’t actually exist.  Genuinely, deep down inside their hearts, they believe that rape simply doesn’t happen (unless it’s a scary black man attacking a virginal white girl after church).

To them it’s a misunderstanding, a slutty girl who regrets sex, a wife not preforming her wifely duties, a woman secretly wanting it because she didn’t fight back hard enough, the girl was drunk so she probably consented and how was the guy supposed to know, no take-backs, and so on and so forth.

Every instance of rape, to them, can be explained away in some capacity as “well, I’m not saying that’s ok, I just don’t think it’s rape.”

And that is a far worse problem than the stupid things that come out of their mouths. 

Agreed.  Unfortunately, I don’t think this is solely a Republican problem, either.  I mean, at least our Dem politicians won’t say this shit publicly or enact policy based on it?  But I’ve known some Democrat men whose level of concern about rape, even when they know it is has personally affected people they allegedly care about, is pretty in line with the sentiments we’ve seen in the press recently.
